2016 Automotive ad of the Year – Dodge’s “Wisdom” Spot

Watching “Wisdom,” a TV spot from Dodge, it’s not hard to see what’s so special about it. It’s one of those brilliant marketing spots that quickly makes you forget that you are watching a commercial.

Everyone wants to live forever. Dodge plays on that innate human desire by featuring real centenarians sharing little bezels of wisdom. The spot initially has an almost Hallmark-like vibe to it. We hear advice like “There are miracles all around you” and “Life is good…you make it good.”

Then we hear the beautiful growl of a 2015 Dodge Challenger while the nuggets of wisdom get somewhat…aggressive. Now we’re told to “Put the pedal to the metal” and “Live fast.” We see one centenarian behind the wheel of the Challenger as he lights up the tires.

The short film was originally created to celebrate the Dodge’s 100-year anniversary. When it got over 5 million hits on YouTube overnight, the automaker decided to edit it as a commercial and air it at the Super Bowl.

“Wisdom” recently won the 2016 Automotive Ad of the Year at the 10th Nielsen Global Automotive Advertising Awards.

Dodge Viper Ending Production in 2017 According to New Contract

Dodge Viper Ending Production

Sad news for Dodge Viper fans: a new contract between Fiat Chrysler and the United Auto Workers (UAW) union indicates that production will end for the much-loved sports car in 2017, ending an epic legacy.

The first Dodge Viper went into production in 1992, and the model was updated and re-released in 1996, 2003, 2008, 2010, and 2013. Despite this history of remodeling, the Dodge Viper will not be getting another re-issue.

Already a rare sports car, the Dodge Viper will almost certainly become more exclusive than ever, and it’s a safe bet the Fiat Chrysler will put out some extra special “goodbye” editions of the Viper before its production ends.

So if you’ve always wanted a Dodge Viper, the time to get one at its MSRP is now. With the Dodge Viper ending production, there’s no telling how high prices will skyrocket for the beloved model.w

2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit Technology Updated for Police Use

2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit Technology

The new 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit technology will be compatible with law enforcement computer system software. The easy-to-use, award-winning Uconnect system is being modified for police use with fully-integrated, exclusive mobile command capabilities that will allow officers to access their computer systems on a simple, centrally-located monitor without dragging along their laptops.

In comparison to the standard Charger Pursuit’s 5-inch display, the 2016 Charger Pursuit will feature a 12.1-inch touchscreen that can toggle either to the traditional and familiar 8.4-inch Uconnect interface or to the officer’s own personal computer with the touch of a button. The touchscreen will work even when the user is wearing gloves, and has been tested in extreme temperatures. There is even an option for officers to plug in and store their mobile laptop in the trunk and connect it to the Uconnect system via Ethernet.

The change to the 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit technology was definitely developed with law enforcement in mind, and makes their jobs easier, safer, and more comfortable. The instruments they need to keep their communities safe will all be right in front of them, visible, and accessible.

Dodge Challenger and Jeep Grand Cherokee Win Vehicle Satisfaction Awards

vehicle satisfaction awardsBuyer’s remorseis perhaps one of the worst feelings you can get, especially after making a major purchase like a house or car. But, if you decide to buy a Dodge Challenger or Jeep Grand Cherokee, you may end up feel more satisfied than the average consumer.

Both of these vehicles came away as winners in their respective segments in the AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. For this year’s results, AutoPacific surveyed more than 66,000 new car owners who rated their vehicles in 50 different areas that included performance, fuel economy, interior comfort, and more.

“In many cases, an extremely satisfying vehicle is not the car or truck that has the best absolute build quality or the best safety rating,” said George Peterson, president of AutoPacific, in a statement. “VSAs look at the big picture, which includes owners’ experiences with their vehicle’s quality and safety, but also goes deeper into the heart of the ownership experience.”

This is the second time in three years the Dodge Challenger has come away with this award in the Sporty Car segment. This accolade continues to add to the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s ever-growing list of awards. It is the most-awarded SUV ever.

Come check out both award-winning vehicle today at Warsaw Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Dodge Sports Car Concept in Gran Turismo 6

Fiat Chrysler is all about competition and appeal and now it’s joining other automakers in debuting its own Dodge sports car concept. You won’t see it in real life just yet, though. Gamers will get the first look in the popular Gran Turismo 6 video game. The concept, which is set for exclusive release, is a single-seat hybrid powertrain concept vehicle.

Other automakers have already made their mark in the game. Infiniti, Peugeot, VW, Renault’s Alpine, MINI, Lexus, Chevrolet, and Subaru, just to name a few, already have Vision GT concepts available virtually. Now, with the SRT Tomahawk Vision, Fiat Chrysler will join the competition.

While it’s just a concept at this point, there is a small chance that the concept could become a real life model. While doubtful it will hit mass market production, a real-life example isn’t out of the question. The Aston Martin DP-100 Vision and Nissan 2020 Vision have already been made into real-life models.

Interestingly, the last time the Tomahawk name was used was for a Dodge concept motorcycle at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. Even more interesting (and out of this world), the motorcycle stocked an 8.3-liter V10 Viper engine.

We here at Warsaw CDJR aren’t sure what to expect of this new concept but we’re excited either way!

Revealed: 2016 Dodge Viper ACR Return

2016 Dodge Viper ACR return
This is the 2015 Dodge Viper, just so you can get a taste of what’s coming with the 2016

Our excitement for the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR return is palpable! The all-new supercar is the “fastest street-legal” Viper ever to grace the roads and our excitement cannot be denied.

The Viper ACR will be equipped with a mega 8.4-liter V10 that generates 645 hp and can reach maximum speeds of 177mph. Are you drooling yet? Because we certainly are!

“The Viper has always been more of a street-legal race car than a track-capable streetcar, and the new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever. Our goal is to arm our enthusiasts with the ultimate Viper track car to dominate road courses around the word,” said Tim Kuniskis, president and chief executive officer of Dodge and SRT brands.

To aid in its track capability, the Viper received an upgraded aerodynamic performance package that creates nearly a ton of downforce to ensure optimal traction and handling.

The customization of the Viper ACR is also limitless, so not only can you have your own supercar, it can be built to the exact specifications you want. For more information on the upcoming 2016 Dodge Viper ACR, visit us at Warsaw Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Dodge Has to Stop Production of Sold-Out 2015 Hellcat

The 2015 Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats are so outrageously powerful, it’s hard to imagine how many people would actually be able to purchase and drive them. And yet – Dodge has asked its dealer network to stop creating them due to overwhelming demand.

Dodge literally cannot produce the Hellcats fast enough for all of the interested consumers to buy one. These vehicles get over 700 horsepower, and yet they’re some of the most popular cars of the year.

According to a company spokesperson, Dodge is “temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system.” As frustrating as this might be for Dodge, it’s got to feel good to have underestimated than to have overestimated.

Are you one of the many people trying to get their hands on a basically sold-out 2015 Hellcat? Let us know what you think in the comments, and get your order in quickly.

Winners of Detroit Autorama High School Design Competition Announced

Four high schoolers became famous among Dodge fans at the Detroit Autorama as their sketches of the next-generation 2025 Dodge were displayed at the Mopar booth, a slightly larger stage than Mom’s refrigerator. The four talented artists are the winners of this year’s Detroit Autorama High School Design Competition.

Detroit Autorama High School Design CompetitionThe design competition, made possible by partnership with the College for Creative Studies (CCS), asked students from public high schools to draw by hand their vision of a next-generation Dodge from the year 2025. They also submitted a 500-word essay describing what the Dodge brand personally means to them.

“It’s been exciting to see this competition grow from a local level to now reaching students from all across the nation,” said Mark Trostle, head of SRT, Mopar, and Motorsports Design for FCA US LLC. “Partnering with CCS and Detroit Autorama gave us the exposure needed to attract young, creative minds and hopefully inspire them to explore automotive design as a potential career.”

This year’s competition winners are Joshua Blundo (Moultonborough, New Hampshire), Conner Stormer (Rochester Hills, Michigan), Hwanseong Jang (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan), and Dongwon Kim (Sunnydale, California).

Each received a MacBook or iPad and passes to attend the Detroit Autorama where their sketches were on display. In addition, the four winners were given admission to a three-week automotive design course at CCS this summer for which all expenses, including housing, meals, and field trips are paid.

Blundo also won a $60,000 scholarship to CCS.

Maybe in a few years we at Warsaw CDJR will be announcing the four students brought to life one or more of the winning sketches and we are awaiting the next-gen Dodge’s arrival.

Bringing Back a Retro-Feature: the Dodge Challenger Shaker

Harkening back to the 70s, Dodge has decided to offer new Challenger Shaker models. These models feature a unique hood scoop that offers a new look, as well as a new feel. This upgrade is just one more reason the Challenger is one of the best muscle cars on the market.

So what exactly does a hood scoop do? According the Dodge, the Shaker scoop increases cold-air induction, upping horsepower. The name comes from the way the model shakes along with the engine (in a good way). The new Dodge Challenger Shaker models come in three basic types: Challenger R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, and first-ever 392 HEMI® Scat Pack Shaker.

“After selling out last year’s Shaker model production in just four days, our hardcore Challenger customers demanded we bring back the Shaker – plus offer more power and more performance,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge and SRT. “We listened, and for 2015, the new Dodge Challenger lineup offers the legendary Shaker hood expanded to include our 485 horsepower HEMI V-8.”

The new Scat Pack racer comes with best-in-class performance thanks to improved equipment. It produces 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, and it paired with a TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission. Not only do these new models look and feel great, they’re also incredibly fast as well.
