Sad news for Dodge Viper fans: a new contract between Fiat Chrysler and the United Auto Workers (UAW) union indicates that production will end for the much-loved sports car in 2017, ending an epic legacy.
The first Dodge Viper went into production in 1992, and the model was updated and re-released in 1996, 2003, 2008, 2010, and 2013. Despite this history of remodeling, the Dodge Viper will not be getting another re-issue.
Already a rare sports car, the Dodge Viper will almost certainly become more exclusive than ever, and it’s a safe bet the Fiat Chrysler will put out some extra special “goodbye” editions of the Viper before its production ends.
So if you’ve always wanted a Dodge Viper, the time to get one at its MSRP is now. With the Dodge Viper ending production, there’s no telling how high prices will skyrocket for the beloved model.w
