Driving in the snow can be stressful, but it’s something we have to get used to here in Indiana. Thankfully, we at Warsaw Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram have several tips for driving in the snow to keep you, your passengers, and everyone around you safe and sound during your commutes.
- Make sure your car is ready to go before you leave: This is important, as you want to ensure you have perfect visibility and that everything is in proper running order. Clear snow and scrape ice from your windows, mirrors, and headlights. Make sure your heater and defrosters are in proper running order, and turn the front and rear defrosters on. Turn on your headlights, and make sure you have plenty of washer fluid before heading out.
- Take it slow: This isn’t a race. People’s lives are in danger every time you hit the pavement, but especially when road conditions are poor. Travel at a lower speed, and don’t be quick to accelerate or brake.
- Brake smart: If you need to brake, do so slowly, pumping on them rather than slamming all at once.
- Leave a good distance between you and other cars: You’ll need a greater stopping distance on snowy and icy roads, so leave enough room between you and the person in front of you.
Most importantly, keep both eyes on the road, both hands on the wheel, and distractions at an absolute minimum. Drive safely this winter!
Diesel engines aren’t anything new here in the US. Powerful trucks from Ford, Chrysler, and GM have long offered powerful diesel engines in their full-size trucks. So what about Chrysler’s 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is so different, even cutting edge, in the world of diesel technology?
To put it simply, the Chrysler 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is its size and the wide variety of vehicles that can put it to use. As far as displacement goes, it’s the smallest engine currently offered in a large pickup in the US. Know what’s even better? For 2014 and 2015, the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 will be available in the Ram 1500 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6’s small size is no indication of its power, and while the 240 hp it gives may not be anything to write home about, the 420 lb-ft of torque it puts out more than makes up for that. In fact, according to autoblog.com, the torque rating is even more than the beastly 5.7-liter Hemi muster up.
Besides being super powerful and lightweight, it may be the fuel economy that most people will be excited about. Though the EcoDiesel engine will cost you a bit more at the time of purchase, it is estimated that in less than three years, your savings at the pump will offset the diesel engine’s cost. The more you drive, and the longer you keep you 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6-equipped vehicle, the better its payoff will be.

The Jeep Wrangler continues to rack up the awards, as SEMA just named it the Hottest 4×4 SUV for the fifth year in a row. Of course, it seems like each and every vehicle in the Jeep lineup is worthy of such an award, but the Wrangler will continue to be the poster boy for the lineup this coming year. Plus, the Wrangler offers the most customer options in the lineup, too, since it has the most Mopar accessories.
In fact, there are over 300 Jeep Performance Parts and accessories available to Jeep Wrangler customers, ensuring that you can always get the maximum performance and perfect personalization out of your Wrangler. “It’s a tremendous honor that Jeep Wrangler has once again been named the “Hottest 4×4-SUV” at the SEMA Show,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand. “Jeep Wrangler owners are the ultimate enthusiasts, and have always loved modifying their vehicles. Offering a unique, classic design and unmatched capability, Wrangler is the perfect platform for them to do so.”

In November, Las Vegas isn’t just the city of sin—it is also the city of aftermarket modifications. Each year, the SEMA Show turns Las Vegas into the place to be for carmakers and aftermarket tuners from around the world. This year, carmakers are once again looking to show off their models’ modifications and Jeep is no exception. With two Renegade concepts in the wings, the American carmaker is ready to take on this year’s the competition.
The first Renegade concept, called Frostbite, shows the small SUVs cool side with a white exterior that adds a bit of ice with blue front grille surroundings; partially blue wheels, and blue mirror caps. Inside the cabin, this Arctic theme continues with pearl-colored seats. The Mopar roof rack gives the outdoorsy-types the ability to carry their skis and snowboards, while a rock rail guard keeps the Renegade protected from, well, rocks.
If the Frostbite Renegade concept is made for winter, then Riptide is perfect for those beachy summers. The Vibrance Grandeur Blue paint job catches the eye with ease, while black accents enhance the blue color. This eye-popping blue color continues in the interior, where white accents add a nice contrast.
While these two Renegade concepts at 2014 SEMA aren’t available on the market, you can still create a personalized version of this Jeep at Warsaw Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Make sure you stop in to our dealership today and see just how you can create your own Renegade concept!
