Harkening back to the 70s, Dodge has decided to offer new Challenger Shaker models. These models feature a unique hood scoop that offers a new look, as well as a new feel. This upgrade is just one more reason the Challenger is one of the best muscle cars on the market.
So what exactly does a hood scoop do? According the Dodge, the Shaker scoop increases cold-air induction, upping horsepower. The name comes from the way the model shakes along with the engine (in a good way). The new Dodge Challenger Shaker models come in three basic types: Challenger R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, and first-ever 392 HEMI® Scat Pack Shaker.
“After selling out last year’s Shaker model production in just four days, our hardcore Challenger customers demanded we bring back the Shaker – plus offer more power and more performance,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge and SRT. “We listened, and for 2015, the new Dodge Challenger lineup offers the legendary Shaker hood expanded to include our 485 horsepower HEMI V-8.”
The new Scat Pack racer comes with best-in-class performance thanks to improved equipment. It produces 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, and it paired with a TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission. Not only do these new models look and feel great, they’re also incredibly fast as well.
Jeep and NBCUniversal are collaborating to create a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for up to three TV viewers over the next few weeks.
New spots will air across several TV networks that will encourage viewers to share photos embodying their “Renegade spirit”—named so after the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade—using the #RenegadeLifeContest hashtag on Instagram and Twitter.
“NBCUniversal’s portfolio of networks allows us to authentically interact with some of its most socially engaged audiences, giving our fans the opportunity to share their own unique ‘Renegade’ spirit and passion for the Jeep brand,” said Kim Adams House, head of Jeep advertising.
Three participating viewers will be chosen to fly to Los Angeles, where they will film a custom, NBCUniversal-produced spot for the Renegade. The viewers will also be invited to attend the iHeartRadio Music Awards, where the spot will air for the first time.
The best part, however, is that all three of the winning viewers will also receive an all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade! So fire up your Instagram and Twitter accounts and get to posting!
The Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk has earned Four Wheeler Magazine’s prestigious “Four Wheeler of the Year” title. The “Four Wheeler of the Year” title is awarded annually by the editors of the leading off-roading enthusiast magazine. Not surprisingly, Jeep has earned the title more often than any other automaker – taking home 30% of the awards since its inception.
In determining this year’s winners, the editors of Four Wheeler Magazine put each nominated vehicle to the test, covering more than 1,000 miles of terrain – including just about every landscape from the sandy beaches to icy mountain driving. In the end, the Cherokee Trailhawk stood out among its competitors.
The award is meant to highlight the very best off-roading vehicles, taking into account performance, capability, technology, style, and amenities. The Cherokee Trailhawk’s cutting-edge technology, modern styling, abundance of amenities, and true off-road capability make it a shoe-in for this year’s top honors.
“Winning the prestigious ‘Four Wheeler of the Year’ award reinforces the fact that the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is unquestionably the most capable mid-size SUV on the planet,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand. “We are thrilled the influential editors of Four Wheeler magazine recognized Cherokee’s benchmark off-road capability, as well as its combination of new engine stop-start technology, exterior styling and interior amenities.”

Seeing one of Jay Leno’s cars get auctioned off is never boring. This time Mr. Leno auctioned off his limited edition 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. An avid car collector, Leno put the muscle car up for auction with the proceeds going to the United Service Organization (USO). It sold for a whopping $360,000.
As if that wasn’t enough, generous donators put in an additional $205,000. Every cent is going to the nonprofit organization. “When people know that 100 percent of it is going directly to the men and women of the armed forces, they really step up, and that was fun to see,” Jay Leno said. Leno offered to deliver the car himself until he learned the buyer was from Maine.
The Gooding & Company’s Scottsdale Auction raised a total of $565,000 on Leno’s contribution alone. Last year, Leno put up a restored 1957 Buick Caballero Estate station wagon signed by George W. Bush.
The proceeds on that sale headed to the George W. Bush Military Service Initiative. The first buyer paid $300,000 and immediately donated it back. It raised another $280,000. Leno’s website for cars and collecting is here.
