There’s no denying that the 1953 Buick Roadmaster Skylark was an icon of its time, and an even rarer find recently went for a six-figure price tag. The Buick Roadmaster Skylark that went to auction wasn’t just any car, though. It had been customized for Neil Young and sold for a whopping $400,000.
This Buick Roadmaster Skylark convertible is a one-of-a-kind model. It boasts a steering wheel hub with “Customized for Neil Young” inscribed on it. The Buick code 76X Roadmaster Skylark Convertible saw a production run of just 1,690 vehicles, making this car even rarer. The model features a two-tone red and white leather interior.
Neil Young’s 1953 Buick Roadmaster Skylark exceeded expectations by selling for $100,000 above its projected value of $300,000, making it the highest-priced sale of the day. It wasn’t the only Neil Young car to be auctioned off, though.
A 1941 Chrysler Series 28 Windsor Highlander sold for $35,200 at the auction. According to Young, it was once owned by Steve McQueen. The third model, a 1948 Buick Roadmaster Hearse, exceeded expectations as well, selling for just over $31,000.
Neil Young’s lifelong collection of trains went up for sale, netting around $300,000. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Bridge School in California. The school was founded in 1986 and helps children with disabilities.

Combine those with its innovative technologies, like a built-in Wi-Fi® hotspot and an available Bose® 10-speaker premium audio system, and there’s simply no topping it.
The latest Buick Enclave features a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces an impressive 302 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
