Too often, the signs of wear and tear on your tires can go unnoticed. Over-worn or bald tires are a major safety risk, and could cause you to lose control of your car at any time, but especially in wet weather. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Replace your tires as soon as you notice any of the following five signs that you need new tires.
Low tread depth. Make sure that your tires’ treads never fall below 1/16-inch in depth. In fact, if you often drive in wet or slick conditions, it’s recommended your tires maintain twice that depth. Check out the old penny trick to quickly and easily see if your tires pass the test.
Tread wear indicator bar. It doesn’t get much easier than this. New tires feature tread wear indicator bars that are built right into the tires. When you begin to see flat rubber bars appear that run perpendicular to the direction of the tread, it’s time to replace those tires.
Sidewall cracks or bulges. Even if your tire’s tread seems to be fine, but you notice cracks or bulges in the sidewall, it’s time for new tires. Cracks and bulges in the sidewall are a sign that your tire is weak, and may even be close to blowing out, so make your way to Warsaw Buick GMC’s service department as soon as possible.
Tire pressure. If you notice that your tires are losing more than one pound-per-square-inch (PSI) per month on average, you may have a leak.
If you notice that your car is vibrating, your tires may be misaligned or out of balance, or you may have suspension issues. Either way, you should have your technician look at it right away. Even if the tires themselves aren’t causing the vibration, they will almost always be damaged by it.
Two FCA US vehicles recently proved that the American carmaker offers terrific vehicles at a value-oriented price. Both the 2015 Jeep Wrangler and 2015 Ram 1500 were recently recognized with Vincentric Best Value in America Awards in their respective segments.
“The Ram 1500 and the Jeep Wrangler earned Vincentric Best Value in America awards by delivering best-in-class performances when we measured total cost of ownership and compared it to expected results for the competitors in each vehicle’s segment,” said David Wurster, Vincentric President. “Contributing to their success was that both vehicles had the lowest total cost of ownership over five years in their respective categories.”
The Jeep Wrangler has earned the Best Value in America award for four years in a row in the Compact/Mid-size SUV segment. This is the first time the Ram 1500 has been recognized by the award in the Full-size ½-ton Pickup segment and we doubt it will be the truck’s last. The awards were decided after Vincentric analyzed each vehicle’s cost of ownership, including their fuel costs, insurance costs, and maintenance costs.
If you are interested in seeing just how value-oriented these vehicles are, stop in to Warsaw Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram today and give them a test-drive!
It’s almost here, the season that we’ve all been yearning for: Spring! And with this new season comes the ever-popular spring break journey – so here are some road trip driving tips.
Before you leave:
Make sure you have all needed documentation with you such as: drivers license, proof of car insurance, and vehicle registration.
Take your car into the shop for routine maintenance. A qualified technician can de-winterize your vehicle by checking your tire tread/inflation, fluids, oil, engine, and brakes.
Make sure you are well rested. Studies have shown that driving while fatigued can be just as dangerous as driving while intoxicated. If you are feeling tired, pass driving responsibilities on to someone else if able. Also be sure to take plenty of breaks along your journey to stretch out your legs and regain travel momentum.
Stay on well-traveled roads. Not only is this for safety purposes, but also it is easier for rescue vehicles to reach you if assistance if needed.
Drive safely. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is wearing their seatbelts and never check text messages or answer phone calls while driving.
We at Warsaw CDJR wish all of our readers a happy spring wherever your journeys may take you.
In order to ensure you’re getting the best in quality and engineering, Ram suited up to test several pickups in cold weather with plow equipment. Although Ram recognizes not everyone will be using their trucks for clearing snow, it’s still a great way to test durability and power.
According to Chrysler, engineers travel north to Michigan every year to test mostly Ram 2500 and 3500 models. The culmination of this annual testing has resulted in the Ram Snow Chief Package, a fine-tuned and decked-out package featuring everything you’ll need to move mounds of snow.
“Only a small percentage of Ram truck owners will subject their truck or van to the harshest winter conditions, but for those who do our durability testing procedures instill confidence,” said Mike Cairns, Director of Ram Truck Engineering. “When it’s minus 20 outside and I walk up to my Ram Truck on a morning of a Michigan winter, I have a sense of self-reliance and assurance that my truck will start.”
The Ram Snow Chief Package includes an upgraded cooling system, high-amp alternator, anti-spin differential, plow lighting, transfer case skid plate, and a heavy-duty suspension. This is available on Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 models in 4×4 and 4×2 models. This just goes to show that Ram pickups are designed for virtually any job.
The Ram 1500 is one of the best trucks out on the market right now—it’s a full-size truck with tons of performance power, but a diesel engine that helps it post the highest mpg ratings in its segment. Now, the Ram brand has rewarded customers with a special new version of the 1500—the 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel, which is a Ram 1500 that takes you to off-road truck heaven.
“Offering an off-road-style package on the Ram 1500 has been on our to-do list for some time but the right combination didn’t present itself until now,” said Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO — Ram Truck Brand, FCA US LLC. “The Rebel drops right into a core segment of the truck market with unique design cues and can-do attitude backed by Ram Truck engineering.”
The Rebel also features extra styling in the exterior and interior, sports bigger wheels and a higher body, and tons of great off-road capability. To learn more about the regular 2015 Ram 1500 or the special new Rebel version, come see us at Warsaw CDJR. Either way, you’ll be getting a version of the greatest full-size truck on the road.
If you caught the American Music Awards, you may have noticed, along with us at Warsaw CDJR, that Chrysler has got great taste in music. The automaker matched up five very talented artists from Interscope Records with five vehicles from its multi-brand lineup for what amounted to a marketing bombardment of the AMA TV audience.
Marissa Hunter, director-global brand advertising and head of Ram Truck brand advertising, explained to Ad Age just how Chrysler went about deciding which artist would represent which ride in the Chrysler music ads…
Gwen Stefani got the Fiat 500L. Both are “fun, young and fashionable.” Plus, she has an Italian last name.
Phillip Phillips had the pleasure of driving a Ram 1500. Chrysler felt that the up-and-coming bard had a “a strong familiarity with the American heartland” that went well with the truck’s image.
The Imagine Dragons song “I Bet My Life” contained themes of “adventure and taking risks,” which dovetailed with the image of Jeep.
Keys to the Chrysler 200 went to Fergie. She’s “young, energetic and stylish,” much like the sedan with which she shared screen time.
And naturally, Eminem was left to promote the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Chrysler felt that a performance vehicle could best symbolize the themes from Eminem’s hit tune, “Guts Over Fear.”
The Ram 1500 was recently named winner of Motor Trend’s 2015 Half-ton Pickup Shootout. Involving many top-selling trucks in the same class, the competition evaluated acceleration, handling, towing, and fuel economy among other things.
According to Chrysler, the 2015 Ram 1500’s performance was what impressed the judges the most. In particular, the EcoDiesel V6 engine—combined with the Torqueflite eight-speed transmission—allows the pickup to generate up to 305 hp , all while getting 28 mpg.
“The half-ton segment is a severely competitive environment and winning Motor Trend’s half-ton shootout validates that we have the top truck in the segment,” said Bob Hegbloom, CEO of Ram Truck Brand.
The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel also boasts over 269 lb-ft of torque, is capable of towing over 7,000 lbs, and carrying a payload of up to 1,900 lbs. The dependable pickup is designed with capability in mind, giving you the confidence to do any job.

Diesel engines aren’t anything new here in the US. Powerful trucks from Ford, Chrysler, and GM have long offered powerful diesel engines in their full-size trucks. So what about Chrysler’s 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is so different, even cutting edge, in the world of diesel technology?
To put it simply, the Chrysler 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is its size and the wide variety of vehicles that can put it to use. As far as displacement goes, it’s the smallest engine currently offered in a large pickup in the US. Know what’s even better? For 2014 and 2015, the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 will be available in the Ram 1500 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6’s small size is no indication of its power, and while the 240 hp it gives may not be anything to write home about, the 420 lb-ft of torque it puts out more than makes up for that. In fact, according to autoblog.com, the torque rating is even more than the beastly 5.7-liter Hemi muster up.
Besides being super powerful and lightweight, it may be the fuel economy that most people will be excited about. Though the EcoDiesel engine will cost you a bit more at the time of purchase, it is estimated that in less than three years, your savings at the pump will offset the diesel engine’s cost. The more you drive, and the longer you keep you 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6-equipped vehicle, the better its payoff will be.
If you’re looking for an efficient yet powerful engine, stop by Warsaw CDJR.
They are the best in the class when it comes to power, have the greatest towing capacity, and can handle the highest payload. Guess which vehicles we are describing: the 2015 Ram Heavy Duty Trucks. With ratings like these, the Ram HD models are simply the best in the business.
“Ram has driven innovation in the heavy duty segments and intelligently engineered a better truck than our competitors, including a 30,000 pound towing monster,” said Mike Cairns, who serves as Chrysler Group’s director for Ram Truck Engineering. “Our 2015 Ram Heavy Duty Trucks own all three relevant titles in the segment: towing, payload and power, while delivering an impressive level of comfort and features unavailable elsewhere in the market.”
Up to 865 lb.-ft. of torque, 17,970 pounds of towing capacity, and 7,390 pounds of payload capacity are available to you through the powerful Cummins engine options. Whatever you may demand of the Ram 2500 or 3500, their imposing stance alludes to the trucks’ willingness to take on the task.
