2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit Technology Updated for Police Use

2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit Technology

The new 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit technology will be compatible with law enforcement computer system software. The easy-to-use, award-winning Uconnect system is being modified for police use with fully-integrated, exclusive mobile command capabilities that will allow officers to access their computer systems on a simple, centrally-located monitor without dragging along their laptops.

In comparison to the standard Charger Pursuit’s 5-inch display, the 2016 Charger Pursuit will feature a 12.1-inch touchscreen that can toggle either to the traditional and familiar 8.4-inch Uconnect interface or to the officer’s own personal computer with the touch of a button. The touchscreen will work even when the user is wearing gloves, and has been tested in extreme temperatures. There is even an option for officers to plug in and store their mobile laptop in the trunk and connect it to the Uconnect system via Ethernet.

The change to the 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit technology was definitely developed with law enforcement in mind, and makes their jobs easier, safer, and more comfortable. The instruments they need to keep their communities safe will all be right in front of them, visible, and accessible.

Dodge Sports Car Concept in Gran Turismo 6

Fiat Chrysler is all about competition and appeal and now it’s joining other automakers in debuting its own Dodge sports car concept. You won’t see it in real life just yet, though. Gamers will get the first look in the popular Gran Turismo 6 video game. The concept, which is set for exclusive release, is a single-seat hybrid powertrain concept vehicle.

Other automakers have already made their mark in the game. Infiniti, Peugeot, VW, Renault’s Alpine, MINI, Lexus, Chevrolet, and Subaru, just to name a few, already have Vision GT concepts available virtually. Now, with the SRT Tomahawk Vision, Fiat Chrysler will join the competition.

While it’s just a concept at this point, there is a small chance that the concept could become a real life model. While doubtful it will hit mass market production, a real-life example isn’t out of the question. The Aston Martin DP-100 Vision and Nissan 2020 Vision have already been made into real-life models.

Interestingly, the last time the Tomahawk name was used was for a Dodge concept motorcycle at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. Even more interesting (and out of this world), the motorcycle stocked an 8.3-liter V10 Viper engine.

We here at Warsaw CDJR aren’t sure what to expect of this new concept but we’re excited either way!

New Smartphone Uconnect App Unveiled at CES

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, we get to see some of the most exciting new technologies coming our way from across practically every industry, including automotive. This year, from Chrysler, now known as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), we get a new smartphone Uconnect app that has some pretty cool features.

With the Uconnect Access app, drivers will be able to remotely program a destination into their navigation system, get a vehicle health report, receive alerts when key vehicle systems need maintenance, and even locate their car using their phone.

“The Uconnect team is dedicated to delivering services and features that are innovative, functional and most of all easy to use,” said Al Amici, Head of Global Uconnect System and Services, FCA US LLC, in a statement. “We understand that our customers lead busy lifestyles and our goal is to minimize the everyday stresses by providing drivers with a variety of ways to stay conveniently connected to their vehicle.”

Imagine having this app on your phone. Then, the next time you can’t remember where you parked in a crowded parking lot, simply open the Vehicle Finder and see a map of exactly where your car is. You can then select Sound Horn and find your car in a snap.

Or, you can save yourself some time by presetting your destinations before you get in the car. Just find where you want to go in the Uconnect Access app, select Send to Vehicle, and when you start your car touch Go Now and you’re on your way.

Initially, the app will only be compatible with select 2015 Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep models equipped with either Uconnect 8.4A or 8.4AN, but will be added to additional vehicles as the system progresses.

Chrysler Sponsors Detroit Autorama High School Design Competition

Detroit Autorama High School Design Competition

The Chrysler Group is sponsoring its 3rd Annual Detroit Autorama High School Design Competition. This is a competition with huge stakes that fosters artistry and ambition amongst the youth of America.

The competition is for US public high school students in grades 10-12. Their mission, if they choose to accept it, is very open-minded and leaves immense room for creativity. The goal is to “design a next-generation Dodge brand vehicle for the year 2025, and include a 500-word essay explaining what the Dodge brand means to them,” according to The Auto Channel.

First place will receive a $60,000 scholarship to the College For Creative Studies as well as a Macbook Pro. “The purpose of this competition is to expose students early in their education to the possibility of a career in automotive design while allowing us to connect with young talent and help to develop their artistic skills,” said Mark Trostle, Head of SRT, Mopar and Motorsports Design, Chrysler Group LLC.

Someone certainly must carry the torch of automotive design and we here at Warsaw CDJR are happy to see Chrysler cultivating the America’s future designers!

Chrysler 3.0-Liter EcoDiesel V6: Small, Powerful, and Efficient

Diesel engines aren’t anything new here in the US. Powerful trucks from Ford, Chrysler, and GM have long offered powerful diesel engines in their full-size trucks. So what about Chrysler’s 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is so different, even cutting edge, in the world of diesel technology?

To put it simply, the Chrysler 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is its size and the wide variety of vehicles that can put it to use. As far as displacement goes, it’s the smallest engine currently offered in a large pickup in the US. Know what’s even better? For 2014 and 2015, the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 will be available in the Ram 1500 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6’s small size is no indication of its power, and while the 240 hp it gives may not be anything to write home about, the 420 lb-ft of torque it puts out more than makes up for that. In fact, according to autoblog.com, the torque rating is even more than the beastly 5.7-liter Hemi muster up.

Besides being super powerful and lightweight, it may be the fuel economy that most people will be excited about. Though the EcoDiesel engine will cost you a bit more at the time of purchase, it is estimated that in less than three years, your savings at the pump will offset the diesel engine’s cost. The more you drive, and the longer you keep you 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6-equipped vehicle, the better its payoff will be.

If you’re looking for an efficient yet powerful engine, stop by Warsaw CDJR.

2015 Chrysler 300 to be Unveiled at LA Auto Show

Chrysler announced that the new 2015 Chrysler 300 will premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, and we here at Warsaw Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram couldn’t be more excited. If it’s anything like the 2014 model, it should be a showstopper.

The LA Auto Show will begin November 18th, and will be open to the public on November 21st.   According to Allpar, engine options for the 2015 Chrysler 300 will most likely be a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and an optional 5.7-liter Hemi V8, both mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 2015 Chrysler 300 is also likely to receive new features such as the UConnect 2, customizable seats and gauges, and advanced parking and safety systems like those seen on the Chrysler 200 and Jeep Cherokee.

Perhaps the most exciting changes to the new 300 will be on the exterior, which recently-released photos reveal will have subtle but gorgeous changes. This includes a newly designed grille, small changes to the rear body, and a stylistic exhaust.

2015 Dodge Viper Puts $15,000 in Your Pocket

In its fifth generation, the 2015 Dodge Viper manages to maintain its roots from 1992 that made it the all-American supercar that it is. Meanwhile, the performance vehicle features modern updates including improved fuel economy, increased horsepower, and a significantly decreased price.

That’s right, the 2015 Viper will debut with a starting price of $84,995, a whopping $15,000 less than the 2014 model. Comparatively, the 2015 model is even less expensive than the original would cost when accounting for inflation.

“The Gen 1 Viper had 400 horsepower. It didn’t have air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, traction control or stability control. It didn’t even have real windows. It was the purest, rawest and most visceral American performance car of its time,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge and SRT Brand president and CEO.

“The Gen 5 Viper maintains the purity of the original car, with its seductive design, perfect weight balance and all-aluminum V10 with an additional 245 horsepower. But the rawness has been tamed with state-of-the-art five-mode ESC, two-mode suspension, ABS, traction control, launch control and a lightweight structure comprised of carbon fiber, magnesium and aluminum. Despite the Gen 5’s massive leap forward in technology and performance, we’re pulling its starting price back to the equivalent of the original Gen 1 car.”

It doesn’t get much better than that, folks. Make sure you have plans to come visit us at Warsaw CDJR early in 2015 to get behind the wheel of this powerful car, which has a rich history and a bright future.
