2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck Spy Shots

It’s finally happening: the Jeep Wrangler is undergoing an all-new redesign for the first time in ten years. Nothing quite says “all-American vehicle” as well as the Jeep Wrangler—after all, the Wrangler helped win World War II—but even the classicists know that it’s the modern twist that Jeep puts on the Wrangler time and time again that makes it unique in today’s market. That is why it’s so exciting to hear that the all new version of this timeless SUV will also come with an all-new model: the Jeep Wrangler Pickup truck.

Unfortunately for curious onlookers—including us here at Warsaw CDJR—the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler has plans to stay out of the limelight for now. It won’t be revealed to dealerships and the press until late fall 2017.

Fortunately for us, we got a tiny sample of what the new Wrangler pickup will offer thanks to some recent spy shots. The shots were only of a prototype, but it was still clear to see that the new Wrangler will keep some of the traditional Jeep details, like the seven-slot grille and the round headlamps. We’re hoping—and expecting—that this indicates that the new 2018 Wrangler will have the perfect balance between trademark details and modern innovation.

Wards 10 Best Engines List for 2017 Includes 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 Hybrid

2017 Chrysler Pacifica | Warsaw CDJR | Warsaw, IN

The Comparison begins

Every year the WardsAuto’s editors go through and choose the top 10  powertrain systems in the automotive industry. This year, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 hybrid propulsion system was found in the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Thus, earning a spot on the Wards 10 Best Engines List for 2017 for the Pacifica.

WardsAuto Senior Content Director Drew Winter was quoted saying “We were wowed by the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid’s seamless operation,” and “The eFlite transmission shifts between pure electric mode and a combination of electric and gasoline engine propulsion without a hiccup.”

Inside the list maker

With this available hybrid powertrain, the Pacifica is the most fuel-efficient minivan ever. Drivers will get up to 33 miles of pure electric driving and a total range of 566 miles. In addition, it gets an EPA-estimated 84 MPGe combined. The 3.6-liter V6 is paired with an eFlite electrically variable transmission, allowing for a smooth transition between electric driving and the gasoline engine.

Achieving Recognition

This is the seventh year in a row that FCA US has been recognized in this prestigious list. In total, the FCA has achieved this recognition 17 times. The innovative plug-in hybrid powertrain on the 2017 Pacifica is the first of its kind in the minivan segment.

Dodge Sports Car Concept in Gran Turismo 6

Fiat Chrysler is all about competition and appeal and now it’s joining other automakers in debuting its own Dodge sports car concept. You won’t see it in real life just yet, though. Gamers will get the first look in the popular Gran Turismo 6 video game. The concept, which is set for exclusive release, is a single-seat hybrid powertrain concept vehicle.

Other automakers have already made their mark in the game. Infiniti, Peugeot, VW, Renault’s Alpine, MINI, Lexus, Chevrolet, and Subaru, just to name a few, already have Vision GT concepts available virtually. Now, with the SRT Tomahawk Vision, Fiat Chrysler will join the competition.

While it’s just a concept at this point, there is a small chance that the concept could become a real life model. While doubtful it will hit mass market production, a real-life example isn’t out of the question. The Aston Martin DP-100 Vision and Nissan 2020 Vision have already been made into real-life models.

Interestingly, the last time the Tomahawk name was used was for a Dodge concept motorcycle at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. Even more interesting (and out of this world), the motorcycle stocked an 8.3-liter V10 Viper engine.

We here at Warsaw CDJR aren’t sure what to expect of this new concept but we’re excited either way!
